The weather forecast for today suggested that we were in for a wet day and indeed it started raining as we left the hotel to get into the car. We therefore decided to go to the shopping mall in Arrecife where Primark is. We had a nice wander round and then a hot drink and snack.
We could see the rain clouds gathering once again so we had a quick stop at our favourite souvenir shop near the Jameos Playa Hotel and then to the Antica Trattoria for lunch
Barely had we sat down than the heavens opened and we experienced torrential rain like we've never seen before in Lanzarote. Were we glad to be inside! The main street was flowing like a river and shopkeepers were struggling to get their products out of the rain and prevent their awnings from buckling under the sheer weight of water.
When we felt the rain had eased we made our way back to the
car avoiding the puddles and back to the hotel.
