Day 13 (Sunday 9 March) Marion and Mike's Last Full Day

Today was Marion and Mike's last full day and Mike is now suffering increasingly from withdrawal symptoms at the thought of having to leave.

The forecast said that there was a 20% chance we might get a light shower around midday but the sky looked promising until - guess what - it rained around midday.  But there's more. We came back from 'The Strip' and the weather finally looked set fair for the day with a mild breeze until we were ready to get down to the pool around 3pm - and then it rained again and had turned cool. It's really way below our experience of Lanzarote weather.

'Tropical' is a Canary Islands-only brand of beer. When the Romans came for a brief visit, they found a breed of dog unique to these islands. The Latin word for dog is 'canis' and this gave the name to the Canary Islands, so nothing to do with birds! (This is the XL measure of beer for €2.50 (£2.10).

Bailey's crêpe for Mike. He's in heaven!
