Departure Day (Tuesday 25 February)

It was bliss to travel to East Midlands rather than have to go to a London airport even though we had a couple of slow sections on the M1.

We easily found a parking space and walked to the terminal. There was no queue at check in or at security so we were soon in the departure lounge. Breakfast opportunities were limited so we ended up in Starbucks although we should have gone to Pork and Pickle which looked to be much better for breakfast than the name suggests!

We headed to our gate only to find there was no captain for our plane. This meant a 90-minute delay but, once we got underway, the flight and transfer were trouble-free. 

We are staying at Las Costas right on Pocillos beach. We were amazed to be told that we had a free upgrade to a suite as there were no rooms of the type we'd booked available.
